Meet our team of experienced lawyers:

  • Tressa V. Johnson

    Tressa V. Johnson has dedicated her nearly decade-long career to personal injury recovery and employment law. She is a lifetime member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, which admits only those lawyers who have won million dollar judgments for their clients.

    Attorney Johnson is a licensed member of the Tennessee and Mississippi Bars. Before cofounding J&B, she was partner of her former law firm, where she recovered $12 million in settlements and verdicts on behalf of injured clients.*

  • Kristy L. Bennett

    Kristy L. Bennett has an extensive history in civil rights litigation. As the former Legal Director at the ACLU of Mississippi, Attorney Bennett fought for justice for traditionally marginalized people. She carries this same level of commitment and fortitude to her clients at J&B.

    Attorney Bennett has close to two decades of federal and state court experience and is licensed to practice in Tennessee and Mississippi. She has tried 30 cases before juries, including her first million-dollar verdict at age 28 in which she recovered a $1.7 million verdict in a discrimination claim. *

  • Employment

    You have the right to your wages and to fair treatment in the workplace. Our lawyers hold your employer accountable for sexual harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, and wage and hour violations.

How to Get Started

Do not delay in getting the help you need. First, you waive your rights if you fail to pursue your claim before the statute of limitations expires. Even if you believe you have missed the deadline, we urge you to call. Under certain circumstances you may have additional time to file a claim.  

You run no risk by scheduling a short case evaluation with our law firm. We offer a free initial case review and charge $100 for an initial consultation with either of our attorneys. We handle most claims on contingency, so if you do not recover under our contingency retainer, you may not have to pay lawyers’ fees.  There are some employment claims governed by different laws, such as state employees or federal employees, that are governed by specific procedures and policies. These types of internal process and appeals are typically on an hourly retainer. Your claim will determine how we proceed with your case.    

To ease the stress associated with an employment  matter, our attorneys are available after regular business hours, if needed. We strive to work with your schedule and ensure you know what days you must be available for court or when your case has deadlines that must be met. We continue to remain easily accessible throughout your case, including same-day responses to most calls and emails. If you cannot reach one of the attorneys, a staff member will be happy to assist you.

At J&B, you talk to your attorney directly, not just your paralegal, and we remain hands on throughout every stage of the process, with support from our professional team.
